THE LAND OF ASTALE – MEDIEVAL AGE
THE PLOT
[/b][/u]THE PLOT
Decades ago, the right to sit at the throne of Astale was contested by two brothers, both good kind men, both worthy of ruling over the lands. The elder brother, strong, ambitious and resolute believed it was his birth right as the first born son. The younger, more sage and gentle, believed his brother too rash, and deeply wished to bring about a new peaceful era to the Kingdom. On his deathbed, their father chose the youngest to rule, much to the land's surprise, and he took the position with great honor. The eldest brother, Aragon, was infuriated with this choice, and spent years brooding. He waited for his chance to take the throne, while his younger sibling married and had a daughter, who would be one day be heir to the throne.
This only angered Aragon further, and with his dreams of being king slipping, watching his brother's average reign, he finally decided to strike out, demanding his brother step down, thus allowing him to take his rightful place. However, when his demands were not met, Aragon led a seige upon his brother in an attempt to overthrow him by force. His rebellion was in vain, and he and his followers were sentenced to death. The King banished him to The Outlands, as he could not bring himself to execute his own brother. After a few weeks, Aragon was presumed dead, since those sent to the Outlands often suffered the same fate.
Years passed, and the daughter of the king grew into a beautiful yet dreamy young woman, and while she was not perfectly fit to rule the kingdom, she aided their father in making peace with the Elven tribes, and bringing better living and working conditions to the villages within the Kingdom. All seemed perfect, and Aragon was forgotten, his memory passing into myth.
However, on Charlotte's eighteenth birthday, both the King and Queen of Astale were brutally assassinated, leaving her the ruler of a terrified kingdom. She now does her best to rule amidst the chaos their deaths caused, taking advice from all those she can. Peace in the Land of Astale has been disturbed, and a rumor has arisen; Aragon has returned from exile, and he wants the throne he still believes to be his.
