ROXANA “ROXIE” ACKER
Quite down now,
I need to make a sound.
Quite down now,
I need to make a sound.
NAME: Roxana “Roxie” Acker; sometimes called “Hacker”
AGE: twenty-one. She can legally drink!
GENDER: Female
RACE: Human
OCCUPATION: Mechanic for the Liberation/Hacker
REGION: Nation of Aeon
ERA: Future
POWER: Besides being able to locate a mechanical problem and fix it faster than many people older than her? Yeah. She can also wreck you whole life and not leave one single bit of a paper trail. Talk about one bad-ass chick!
EQUIPMENT: Her tool bag, containing all the equipment she may possibly ever need to help fix up whatever those Liberators break on her precious babies. And a universal jump drive, that contains all of her programs she’d collected so far, and contains programs to bring down major firewalls. She also likes to carry around a semi-automatic artillery long-range bazooka… just in case.
LIKES:
- Working with her babies (the machines of the Liberation)
- Downloading (illeagally, of couse) new software
- Energy drinks. Especially a red line (basically a red bull on steroids) when she has to burn the midnight oil
- Her overalls
- Getting new tools. Stealing them also works
- When her craftsmanship comes home unbroken.
DISLIKES:
- Her hair. She honestly has to put two dozen hairpins in it to keep it looking half-way decent
- When the Liberation members break her things.
- When her handy work gets ruined.
- Watching her friends die. She dislikes this immensely, so she builds better machines to protect them.
- Rust
- People that refuse to let go of obsolete technology. She’s a techie and a gear-head, so anything new is her lover.
FEARS: That the Liberation won’t succeed
SECRET: Both of her parents worked for the U.A.S
PERSONALITY:
I fly like paper, get high like planes…
Roxie is a pretty chill girl. She likes to listen to her jams and rock out. She’d not anti-social, though, oh no! Get her with her friends, and you can be sure that Roxie is always laughing the loudest, talking the loudest, and basically being the loudest person out there. Maybe it has something to do with being surrounded by machinery, or because she likes to blast her music. Whatever the reason, Roxie is quiet the talker. She’s not afraid to walk up to a total stranger and ask him for his number. She’s also not afraid to tell this total stranger that she’s finds him adorably cute. She’s pretty sure she has selective ADHD, because when she’d not around her tools, she can never keep her mind focused on one thing, but when her fingers are to the keyboard or her has a wrench in her hand, her mind becomes focused on the one activity she’s working on.
I’m armed and I’m equal, more fun for the people
When Roxie’s with her tools, she’s the boss, and you better damn listen to her, or she will kick yur little ass. She’s very serious when it comes to making the technology that will keep her friends and fellow Liberation members safe. Because her parents working on androids and cyborgs, Roxie also has a background in prosthetics, so she knows how to help her lame friends, but only as long as they’re not bleeding. She can’t help ya there. Her serious attitude also comes out when she’s working on hacking into a system. Although she’s done nothing major, she has hacked a couple of bank systems and a few personal computers or low-ranking officials to try and track down advances in the enemies technologies. Roxie would do anything to protect those around her, so she’s attached herself to her tools and hacking skills. Which means that she’s only slightly insane.
Whatcha want? That fire done burn!
Roxie also has a habit of sticking her nose where it don’t belong. Which is, of course, a good trait for a hacker. It’s also taken her farther in life, because some people see her nosiness as and brashness as a good trait, while others just call it eavesdropping. Unfortunately, this has gotten her into more trouble than good. Like being kept under house arrest. Roxie also has a hard time of knowing when to keep her mouth shut, and sometimes accidentally says things that she shouldn’t to the wrong people. She also has an unfortunate habit of saying things others usually keep in their head. She calls it “saying the truth”. Most people say it’s rude.
HISTORY:
Roxie was born to two neuron-surgeons that worked for the Government to create androids and cyborgs. When Roxie had been young, she wanted to be exactly like her parents. She wanted to help people live better lives. As she grew older, Roxie realized that her parents weren’t helping people lead better lives. Rather, they were trapping people into servitude. She tried to tell herself for a long time that her parents weren’t totally sure of what they were doing, but it became clear after Roxie had been arrested at a couple of demonstrations against the Government that her parents knew exactly what they were doing. When she was old enough to travel outside of school and the house by herself, her parents put her under unofficial house arrest, in an attempt to keep her away from the people they knew she would find if they let her.
House arrest wasn’t the best idea for the family. Roxie refused to listen to her parents reasoning and constantly argued with them over the human rights they were willingly trampling in an effort to create a ‘perfect’ human. Because of her parents long work schedules, Roxie often busied herself by hacking into their computers and reading the information they kept there. This only caused a larger and more unstable rift in the family, one that could no longer be healed. Roxie would bring up information that she shouldn’t have known, would get in more trouble, and then break down the extra securities her parents had put up to try and protect themselves. Eventually, Roxie was able to break down their personal information so much, that she could no longer stand to live with her parents. At the age of eighteen, Roxie escaped. Well, it was more like she and her parents got into such a huge fight that in a rage, her parents kicked her out of the house, forgetting all the information she knew about neuron connections, Government plans for androids, and the latest technology on prosthetics. Before she left, Roxie put a time-delay worm in her parents computers, which ate all their information after sixty days.
Outside, Roxie soon got a job as a mechanic. She turned out to be very skilled at it, once she learned the ropes, and quickly moved up to harder and harder fixes. This is how she came in connection with the Liberation. One night, at the shop she was working at, a Liberation member came in with a broken personal mecha. The head mechanic, forgetting that Roixe was working overtime, tried to fix the problem, but couldn’t figure it out. Not realizing she wasn’t suppose to be there, Roxie pushed the head mechanic aside, checked over the mecha, and fixed the problem in about an hour. She was soon asked to join the Liberation as a mechanic, which she gladly accepted.
