PRUDENCE DISRAELI
We were so optimistic,
It was so easy to be...
we were young and naive.
We were so optimistic,
It was so easy to be...
we were young and naive.
NAME: Prudence "Prue" Disraeli
AGE: 20
GENDER: Female
RACE: Human
OCCUPATION: Concert pianist and composer. Blood servant
REGION: Region of Mysterre
ERA: Victorian
POWER: She is a very talented pianist and composer, though most of her music has Russian undertones that sound melancholy, but also have an air of hope to them. (think symphony no. 7 by Beethoven) She is also talented with the violin, but uses it more as a means to just play. It is most certainly not her instrument of choice, which is obviously the pianoforte. But a Vivaldi violin is the next best thing.
EQUIPMENT: Pen and ink, along with composing sheets.
LIKES:
- the rain. It calms her
- overcast days. Pale skin + Red Hair = Enemy of the Sun
- playing the piano. Her fingers just fly over the keys, and it comes so naturally to her
- taking long walks. It clears her head of all the mumbled notes that fog her head when she thinks to hard about a composition.
- fruits. Of any kind really. The more exotic, the better. She loves the sweetness of them.
- playing anything by Beethoven or Vivaldi.
- especially Symphony No. 7, by Beethoven.
- shopping outside the main city. For some reason, they have better things, and cheaper.
- carrying parasols. They are her lifelines on sunny days
- visiting the theater and ballet. She sometimes wishes she'd been gifted with dancing rather than music
DISLIKES:
- sunny days. Mentioned previously; Pale Skin + Red Hair = Enemy of the Sun
- not being able to move past a part in a new composition. Because everything else can be ready EXCEPT that part, of course...
- being interrupted while composing. If she doesn't get it down right then, she could lose it all.
- when the vampires take too much blood. She's only human. She can only give so much.
- bitter foods. Bleh. Blehblehbleh. Blehbleh, blehblehbleh. ... Bleh.
- Mozart. That little son-of-a-bitch was a monster, I tell you! A monster!
- spiders. They just scare her. Plain and simple.
- vampires that treat her like some sort of whore. She offers them her blood as a service, not because she's forced to.... well....
- being yelled at. She hates thinking that she's messed up somehow.
- watching other be abused and not being able to stop it. She dealt with it for most of her childhood. She doesn't want to see it ever again.
FEARS: one of the vampires killing her, either by accident or on purpose.
SECRET: She's been with the vampires her whole life.
PERSONALITY:
Not Your Concern
Prudence, at first glance, could seem to care less what you do with your life, or how you may affect her. This especially obvious when she is on stage. Prudence carries the aura of "I don't give two shits" very well, since she puts all of her focus into her art on stage, and into avoiding others when she is off. A slight introvert, Prue has a hard time conversing with strangers without making some sort of sharp remark. she is not your ideal Victorian lady. Prue is sharp in most aspects of the mind, except in reading others emotions. She typically doesn't do well with people relying on her for support, but this makes her feel guilty, so it's common for her to give away much of her money to orphanages.
The Artist
When confronted by strangers, Prue has a habit of shutting them down before they can get a word out. This isn't because she's rude - although she can be - it's more of a defense mechanism against having to talk to people she doesn't know. But with people she does know, Prue turns into a kind, laughing girl that loves to make jokes and gossip about the latest word from the theater. As a figure on the world stage, Prue is quite a fashionable character, though she does tend to prefer high necked dresses due to certain marks on her neck. She also almost always knows the going-ons of her patrons and regular concert attenders.
Don't Wake Me Up
Unlike outside, Prue changes around the people she normally spends her time with, specifically with the vampires she serves. When she's around the vampires, Prue adopts a more timid and silent disposition. This is another defense mechanism to avoid dangerous confrontations with some very deadly people. While she is always caution around vampires, around those she customarily serves, she is much more open about. Here, she prefers to speak softly or to not be heard at all, unless she fears that she could be hurt.
HISTORY: Prudence Disraeli was born to a young woman that served underneath the rule of the vampires as a blood servant, or one that offered their blood to their masters willingly, so as to help the vampires lay low. They would have lived a decent life if it hadn't been for the fact that Prudence's father was a violent drunk, and drunk he often was. While Prudence was being groomed to be a good blood servant to the new generation of vampires - those that looked to be close in age with her as soon as she turned 7 - she would come home to have to hide as her father beat her mother. She hated it, but there was nothing she could do.
It came to a point where Prudence would find all of the excuses to stay with her masters and near the piano, where she felt at home the most. She quickly grew in talent with her skills at the piano, being able to almost perfectly sight-read music that was placed in front of her. Fortunately for her and her mother, Prudence's father died when she was 13, and after that, her skills accelerated like no other. The Elder vampires recognized her talent, and felt that it would be better if they allowed the young blood servant out onto the stage. For why should you keep such a beautiful bird in a cage? By the time she was fifteen, Prudence was becoming widely known for her complex music and technique, all the while living a double life between the stage and the vampires. By now, her master ranged to the few that she'd been with the longest, those she'd known since she'd begun.
Five years later, Prudence's popularity hardly seems to dwindle. Unfortunately, she's now starting to have feelings for one of the vampires she serves.
