SECRET: Kiyoshi has a dark side. It is very rare that he will show this more demonic side of himself, but if he is pushed far enough he can actually become very dangerous.
PERSONALITY: Kiyoshi is young and he still has some growing up to do. He is a mischievous creature, and he finds it fun to cause trouble for others. Of course, he never plays tricks that will actually harm anyone, not unless he's in a bad mood. He just gets bored easily, and having nothing to do drives him crazy. Because he becomes bored quickly, he hates being alone. He is someone who prefers to surround himself with a group of people, someone who enjoys being the center of attention. It doesn't matter if it is good attention or bad attention, he just likes to be noticed.
Kiyoshi thinks he is better than everyone else, or at least he acts like it. He can be a little arrogant at times and has been known to have an ego. He appears very confident, someone who knows what he wants. On the inside, however, he is actually self-conscious and wary. He worries what people think of him, and despite the fact he acts like he knows everything, he knows that he still has a lot to learn.
He is very free spirited and has a mind of his own. He hates being told what to do, or being told he is not allowed to do something. Rules mean nothing to Kiyoshi. In his opinion, they were made to be broken. He goes through life, living how he wants, often doing the opposite of what he is told just to spite people. He doesn’t like being bossed around, and if anyone is going to be giving orders it’s him. As long as no one tries to tell him what to do, he is usually very laidback and carefree.
Kiyoshi acts like he is perfectly happy, always seeming to have a grin or a smile on his face, but the truth is that he’s lonely. He knows that he is different from other people; not a human, but not a demon either. Ever since he was young he has known that he has no place in the world. He has never been treated very well, and because of this he is scared of getting close to people. He fears that they will end up rejecting him. That, and he has lived on his own for so long that the idea of having any close relationships scares him.
HISTORY: Kiyoshi was born to a human mother and a demon father. His mother was just a simple villager that happened to fall in love with a powerful bird demon. His father was killed by a tribe of demon slayers before Kiyoshi was born, so Kiyoshi never got to meet him. He was brought into the world by his mother and spent his early years living in the village with her. While his mother always claimed to love him, he knew that the other villagers didn’t feel the same way. Kiyoshi had the body of a human, taking after his mother in that aspect, however, on his back were two raven-black wings, a trait that had been passed down by his father. It was because of these wings that he was shunned by the villagers. He was different, and humans can’t seem to deal with things that are different.
Kiyoshi had a lonely childhood, as none of the village kids would ever want to play with him, thinking he was strange. Kiyoshi always kept smiling though, no matter how bad the other residents treated him. He did it not for himself, but for his mother. He saw how much she was affected by him, and he didn’t want her to have to suffer too. Unfortunately, as Kiyoshi grew older, the villagers began taking their taunts out on her as well. This was too much for Kiyoshi to watch, and so he left. He did it for his mother, to set her free. Maybe if he was gone the people would leave her alone. Maybe she would meet another man and she could have a normal son, one that didn’t have bizarre wings. Kiyoshi never went back to that village, never looked back. Sometimes he wonders about his former home, but they are only fleeting thoughts. He has a new life now. It is every bit as lonely, but at least there are not people to torment him, at least he isn’t bothering anyone else.
Kiyoshi has been wandering the land for over one hundred years now. Sometimes he thinks about settling down somewhere, but every time he tries something always happens, something always goes wrong. He is also scared to get close to people, as he has never known love or friendship. All he knows is how to survive on his own without the aid of others. He is like a bird, a creature that likes to be free without any restraints, and he has no idea what falling in love with someone would do, so he dares not try it. He knows that he does not belong anywhere. He is a strange misfit creature, one that does not belong with demons or humans. He lives life differently than most, going from place to place, never staying anywhere for long. He flies with the wind, traveling wherever the breeze happens to take him.
