It was early morning. The sun had only just risen, bringing light to the world once more. Walking among the trees was a young girl. She would appear as a normal human unless one were to look closer, then they would see her pointed ears and know that she was an elf. She pranced along happily, really having no idea where her feet were taking her. She was just wandering around aimlessly like she usually did. As she walked, the cool morning breeze began to blow, causing a smile to appear on her face.
Still moving, she closed her eyes as the wind tousled her hair around. She liked the way it felt. She listened to the sounds of the forest as she walked; the wind whispering through the branches of the trees, the lively chirping of the birds. She loved the way the small creatures sang, greeting the new day with a happy song. How beautiful! She decided to create her own song, a beautiful harmony, letting her voice be carried along with the wind and through the forest. She hummed softly, though unlike the melody of the birds, hers was sad and melancholy. Despite the sad tune, there was still a smile on her face. She was always smiling.
The girl bumped into something, a tree, and her big blue eyes quickly flew back open. Oh, how silly of her! She shouldn’t have been walking with her eyes closed! She rubbed her forehead, making a face, and then looked up at the tree that had gotten in her way. Her eyes instantly brightened, and she forgave the plant for hurting her head. Up in its branches were small shiny red orbs. Apples! This delighted her. The girl reached up to one of the branches, hand stretching toward the fruit. Unfortunately, she wasn’t tall enough. She frowned, frustrated. She walked to the base of the tree and then started to climb, using the gnarled bark to pull herself up.
Once she was in the branches of the tree, she reached out and picked one of the apples. She giggled and tossed it from hand to hand, juggling it. Then she lifted it to her lips and took a big bite. She loved apples. They were so tasty! Who couldn’t like such a wonderful fruit? Pleased that she had all these tasty red apples to herself, she took another bite, munching on the piece of fruit happily. When it was gone, she grabbed onto one of the branches of the tree and began shaking it. She shook it until the fruit was raining to the ground. There would be so many, a feast of apples! “Breakfast is served!” she chimed from way up high in the tree. [/blockquote]

Up bright and early, Victor was on a hunt, He had caught wind of a Vampire, can you believe it? In the middle of a Forest. The birds chirped and the trees were all green, this was very different then what Victor was use to, he was accustomed to barren wastes and dark drab areas that vampires would live in such as abandoned castles made of stone, walls cold to the touch, blood splattered on the wall, bodies of the once inhabitants all over the place, just thinking about his last encounter gave him the chills, it was clearly a bad experience.
Victor entered the forest at the crack of dawn, when the light of the sun would just begin to touch the darkness of the world. He wore his fancy attire of decently crafted silk that he had found in his travel, he had also fashioned the very outfit, appearing to be something a Priest would wear, it was only a mere coat and a white collar. underneath he wore a cotton shirt with a leather harness which held his knife and crossbow along with wooden stakes, these were especially useful in killing vampires. Victor despised the lot of them, they would come out of their daily hiding while the sun slept to come take the blood of a mortal and take their life as well, how could one be so inhumane Victor thought, he was even more considerate then that, he may prompt and even slightly pressure one into letting him have some blood from time to time but he would never dare kill one for their blood.
The wind gently blew through the trees along with the light fragrance of apples, they smelled good, not as good as blood but good enough to make his stomach grown, all this thought of dark gloomy blood and evil things made him hungry and when he was hungry he would eat until he was completely full, he once at a whole dinner for four people all by himself. He re-adjusted his glasses, a special thing he had found along his travel, they were very uncommon, fashioned of some sort of unknown solid, it was rather hard but slightly bendable, these made the frame and in front of his eyes were a special made glass, he didn't need to wear these but they helped.
He heard a noise not to far off from his location, he looked around to find a large mass of red on the ground, a close look would reveal that it was a massive heap of apples just laying on the ground, Victor was so happy he could just stand there and drool but he had better plans, he took to a full out sprint jumping into this heap of apples and basking in them, taking a bit of a few at a time, he was so overjoyed and hungry he was in his own little world not noticing the little elf girl standing not to far away from him, His long white hair had even taken to falling over his face while he munched on a few apples, hes just ignored it engorging himself in the taste of fresh apples.

There was movement below, a quiet rustle in the bushes. Freya’s blue eyes widened and she froze, waiting to see the cause of the noise. She lowered herself down to her knees, crouching in the branches of the tree, watching, waiting. A minute passed, the rustling sound growing louder, closer, and then a peculiar looking being appeared from the undergrowth. He had long white hair, perhaps even longer hair than her own, and he wore funny round things over his face, something Freya had never seen on a human before. She tilted her head to the side, watching him with curious eyes. She didn’t get visitors to the forest very often, so whenever a stray human wandered into the depths of the green trees she got very excited.
Freya was fascinated with humans, especially males. They were such funny creatures. A smirk appeared on her face as she wondered what kind of mischief she could cause for him. Living in the forest could be rather dull at times, so whenever she ran into a traveler she would cause as much trouble for them as she could, always pestering them until they ran away. The elf leaned farther out on her branch, peering down at the mysterious white-haired man. Wait…what was he doing? Her eyes widened when she saw him pick up an apple from the ground and take a bite of it. Hey! Those were hers!
“Hey... Heeey!” Freya sprang to her feet, the branch swaying under her weight. Her mouth was hanging wide open as she watched the man eat her precious apples. He didn’t just eat one, no, he took bites out of many of them, soiling the red fruit. Her sapphire blue eyes narrowed into tiny slits as she watched him. Greedy pig! She did not want to share! Hm, well maybe she was the greedy one...but still! “Those are mine! Get your hands off 'em!” Snapping out of her shock, the elf reached up and picked an apple from the branch above her. She tossed it back and forth between her hands, and then hurled it through the air, aiming carefully. She chucked the apple in the direction of the man, aiming for his head.
Then she began to make her way back down from the tree, hopping from branch to branch. When she was close to the bottom, she let herself fall, catching one of the lower tree limbs by her legs, hanging there upside down like a bat. Her blond hair cascaded down, the ends of it nearly touching the ground below her. She stared angrily at the man, lips pushed out in a pouting look. “Fruit thief,” she said accusingly, glaring at him. She held her frown for a few moments, trying to look threatening. [/blockquote]

Victor was, to put it so simply, in heaven. Apples everywhere just in a large heap on the ground. The day was just beginning and Victor was hungry, he hadn't had a bite to eat in a few days because he has been on the move since his last purification job in the haunted castle of Dracula the black. This however was out of his mind completely now as he rolled on the ground in delight, apples everywhere, he would take a bit of one then another then another, he might have even drolled slightly, he looked almost like a little child, of course Victor knew he had major personality issues.
He lay on his back looking up eating apples, midway through his eating session he suddenly froze as if he had hit a personal ice-age. The only thing he dare to move were his eyes as he was poised as if he were about to take a bite of the apple, his eyes drifted up and to his right to see a girl hanging upside down from a tree yelling all sorts of things at him such as "Fruit thief" Victors face stayed still, he pretended that he wasn't even there, not moving an inch as the wind took his hair gently.

The man didn’t react at all. He just laid there on the ground doing nothing. This made Freya’s glare intensify. Was he ignoring her? Oh! She hated when people ignored her. They were supposed to find her interesting! She let out a quiet huff, blue eyes never leaving the man on the ground. He was basking in her apples as if they were treasure, as if they were gold. And, to her, they were. They were beautiful red rubies, edible rubies. How dare he steal them from her without asking her permission! He was soiling them, impurifying them.
“Excuse me,” she said, “But I believe this belongs to me.” She reached down a hand and snatched the apple away from the man before he could react. It had a few bites taken out of it, making it worthless to her, but she wanted to take it from him anyway. He’d eaten enough of them! She frowned at the half eaten apple, and then tossed it to the side. She returned her gaze down to the man on the ground. He still hadn’t moved. Did he honestly think that by acting like a rock he would become invisible to her? “If you wanted an apple,” she told him calmly, “All you had to do was ask.”
The elf reached out her hand again, stretching it as far as she could reach. She was very agile, very flexible, and even though she didn’t look it, very strong. Her legs supported her, wrapped tightly around the tree limb, holding her in place. Her finger poked the strange man in the face, jabbing at his cheek. She tilted her head to the side slightly, eyes losing some of their fire, expression becoming more curious now. “Can you talk?” she asked and lifted an eyebrow. He looked human, but he was sure acting strange. Then again, all humans acted strange! That was why she found them so fascinating. [/blockquote]

The girl, who had just very recently come to Victors attention, was hanging upside down from a tree right next to him claiming that these apples were hers. He was left in an awkwardly silent state as he didn't know what to do at the moment, his stomach had growled once or twice in this silence. Victor re-adjusted his glasses onto his face and got up slowly after crab walking backwards a foot or two from the girl, as he stood he fixed his cloak of black laced with white. He then dusted himself off and spoke in a rather jovial voice for a man of 29, it seemed to be the voice of a kindhearted person.
"Speak? Of course i can speak you silly girl, what ever gave you the idea that i couldn't speak?" Victor said smiling brightly and scratching his head. "My name is Victor Andrew Blackheart my lady, It is very odd to meet you in such a way, especially when im hungry you see, i have this insatiable hunger that sometimes i just can never get over and some how through gods grace i never gain a pound!" Victor smiled brightly

The man finally spoke, and when he spoke he said a lot at once, some of the phrases he used being rather peculiar. He introduced himself to her, telling her his name. He said that he was hungry and that is why he had eaten the apples. Freya stared at him with big blue eyes, tilting her head to the side like a curious fox. It seemed that she was mistaken and this human could, in fact, talk. That was okay though, he still seemed quite interesting. If he wasn’t able to talk he could have proven to be boring, as Freya loved to talk. There was hardly ever a moment of silence around her.
“Is it really that odd?” she asked, lifting an eyebrow. “To meet under these circumstances?” She grinned playfully. “This my home, the place that I live. But, sir, whatever brings you this far into the forest?” She asked the question still hanging upside down. The blood was beginning to rush to her head though, so she swung back up onto the branch, crouching there like a cat. She peered down at the man, eyes intent and intrigued, waiting for his reply.
The man’s stomach growled, and Freya picked another apple from the tree. She stared at the apple for a moment, but then slowly extended her hand toward the man. She supposed she could spare one more, he’d already eaten most of them anyway. It was a sort of peace offering, her sharing the food with him. “You may call me Freya,” she told him happily, seeming to be back to her usual smiling self now that she knew this fruit thief meant her no harm. She smiled widely at him, continuing to hold out the apple. He seemed like an interesting human, this Victor Andrew Blackheart. Freya did not bother giving him her whole name, as she knew that elven names were difficult to pronounce for most humans. [/blockquote]

The day was still young as the two conversed, Victor was surprised that she had lost he angry intentions, giving him an almost interested look or so it seemed to Victor. She spoke to him, questioning whether the situation and circumstances of them meeting were odd, Victor thought they were at least. She looked rather happy now as she explained to him that this was her home and questioned why Victor had been there in the first place.
As she swung herself back up onto the branch Victor replied "Well i do think it is odd indeed meeting like this but never mind that. So this is where you live, in the woods?" Victor smile. "Well you see Freya, im a traveling priest sent by the Vatican, it is an order of fathers who have created their own hierarchal society. I Father Abel Nightroad along with other select few are apart of an AX division of the brothers and sisters of the Vatican, Meaning we are special and have special duties." Victor smiled as he took the apples from the girl, after receiving the apple he extended a hand to her as if to shake it.

“Yes!” Freya chimed cheerfully. “The forest, it is my home.” She dropped from the branch she was perched on, hopping off and gracefully landing on the ground in front of the man. She quickly straightened and looked up at him, tilting her head back so she could see the top of his head. He was tall! Or, well, compared to her anyway. Freya was rather short for an elf, or at least that’s what she was told. To be honest, she hadn’t met many elves in her lifetime. She found her own kind dull, and most of them frowned upon her adventurous spirit and lack of manners, viewing her more as a human than an elf.
Freya just stared at the man with wide eyes. She tilted her head to the side slightly, trying to make sense of what he had just told her. Alas, she hardly understood any of it. She looked thoughtful, a serious expression coming over her face. Priest, Vatican, hierarchal society, AX division; the young elf wasn’t sure of the meaning of any of these words. This intrigued her farther though, and her eyes seemed to shine. She leaned toward the man curiously. “A priest, you say?” the elf echoed, repeating the man’s words. “Interesting,” she mused, and then a grin slowly appeared on her face. “Sounds fun!” Her speech was childish as always. She hadn’t been raised properly, and with her isolated upbringing she had never really been taught proper etiquette.
Normally the humans she met up with had little to say, or they were simple travelling to a new town for better trading. This man seemed to have stories though. He spoke of things she had never heard of before, instantly making him her new target. She would probably be following him for a while, that is, until he had answered her questions or she became bored. She often did that, followed travelers. Most of them didn’t seem to mind. Whenever they reached the edge of the forest, however, the elf would retreat, vanishing. “What does a priest do?” [/blockquote]

As Freya told Victor how the forest was her home, she dropped down from the branch, Victor notice that she was rather short compared to him but then again he thought he was relatively tall standing 6 feet in height. Victor remained polite easily for this sort of duration but he kept in the back of his mind that he was on a mission for vengeance and that this was once of those things that he must, without fail complete because to him failure of his task would be equal to death.
She questioned him about priesthood, commenting on how it sounded interesting and fun, in the back of Victors mind he laughed because his life so far was indeed the exact opposite, not fun for sure. Regardless of how this girl misunderstood him he wouldn't trouble her with his own problems, " W-Well you see, i guess you could say i preside at masses and bless things, well at least a normal priest would do that im apart of the AX division however and i assume different responsibleness. F-Freya dear it was nice meeting you but i must rather get going, you see the Vatican has some important things for me to do." Victor laughed smiling and scratching the back of his head as if he were being a bother.

Freya still wasn't completely sure what the man was talking about. It sounded interesting though! More exciting than her own life, at least. Living in the forest was nice, but after so many years it became rather dull. After all, there were only so many places to explore in the forest, and after a century she had started to run out of places. This was why she liked to pester the travelers. Their lives were always more interesting than hers, and they would tell her stories of faraway lands. She always enjoyed their company, and though she rarely left the forest with them, she savored the time she spent with them. It got rather lonely living in the forest all by herself, so, even if just for a little while, she was always thrilled when she happened to run into a stray human.
The elf wasn't sure why, but suddenly the man seemed uncomfortable. "F-Freya dear it was nice meeting you but I must rather get going, you see the Vatican has some important things for me to do," he said with a note of finality in his voice. "Leaving so soon?" Freya tilted her head to the side, not understanding why he wanted to leave. But they had only just met! Had she said something wrong? The smile disappeared from her face at this thought. That's what the humans always said. They always told her that they 'needed to get going.' Sometimes she listened, sometimes she didn't, but it was always the same in the end. They always disappeared eventually.
Freya frowned up at Victor for a second, narrowing her eyes, an unreadable expression on her face. A few moments passed, and then her usual smile returned to her face. "I'll come too!" she announced happily, taking a step closer to him, blue eyes seeming to sparkle. She didn't phrase it as a question, rather a statement, as if no matter what the man said she would be coming. This was true, because even if he told her no, to stay away from him, she would most likely follow after him like an annoying little fly. [/blockquote]

As Victor told Freya about his current situation, her face went through a lot of changes, seems almost good to bad and back to good again. Victor was only slightly confused now so he thought he would just wait for her to say something ,anything at all that would give him some insight as to what might be going on. He hoped that he had not hurt the little elfs feeling because his intentions were true, he indeed did have important matters to attend to and he would like to get on task as fast as he possibly could. Shes question his leaving her so soon, he didn't really know what to say so all he could do was slump his shoulder and give her an innocent look as if he wasn't exactly sure what to say to her at this point.
She narrowed her eyes on him, as if angry or just focusing on him, he expression was weird and after a short but awkward silence she spoke, exclaiming that she would accompany him on his travels. Victor didn't exactly know how he felt about this decision because of the dangers that probably lay ahead of them. Victor said in his rather soft spoken tone "B-but Freya are you sure about this i mean i just dont think you know what your getting yourself into right now,This will be dangerous. I am a priest however i am entitled to do certain duties which may happen to be unpriest-like. If you insist that you come i have no right to stop you but i must tell you to heed my warnings." Victor concluded with a more serious look on his face.

Freya paid little attention to Victor's words, hardly listening. He used that word again, priest, and she still didn't know exactly what that was. He also said there would be danger, but this didn't really phase her either. All she knew was that she was bored and she needed a new companion to travel with, at least for a little while. "Danger? What kind of danger?" she asked curiously, and then, hardly giving the man time to answer added, "Sounds fun to me!" She did a little twirl, blonde hair swishing around as she did so. "The forest is rather boring, y'know?" She poked the man in the face as she said this, finger pressing lightly against his nose. Then she smiled and took a step back, giving him more space. A soft laugh escaped her lips.
"Isn't traveling by yourself lonely?" she pressed, head tilting to the side again, giving him a curious look. "Surely having company would be more pleasing!" Why was it that the humans always traveled alone? Why not in groups? Did they like being alone? What peculiar creatures they were. Freya couldn't stand being alone, and she was constantly seeking companionship. She was glad that this man hadn't outright turned her away. He had said he wouldn't stop her coming with him, so that meant she would come. Even if he had told her not to come with him she would have. She did whatever she wanted, not listening to what other people said, a free spirit. [/blockquote]

Victor could tell Freya was beginning to get a little annoyed of all of his trivial talking, he knew at times his speeches were a bit annoying. Shes questioned him about the dangers and what might happen, but it was clear either way, she was determined to follow him to the ends of the earth, or so it seemed at the moment and that nothing would stop her from following him, of course Victor didn't really have a problem with this, he likes companions from time to time.
Freya asked Victor if traveling by himself got lonely, Victor took a long moment to think about that statement because he had been alive for what was it he though, 900 years? He had been around long enough to see and hear his fare share of people and their problems. Victor didn't really want to say he had enough of if because it didn't really bother him, it was just like life to him though, it just went on. "Hahaha, why yes i suppose sometimes it could get rather lonely, no one to be there when you fall down but i guess ive somehow learned to manage, same old me, tough but clumsy. I suppose having your company right now would be lovely Freya, i figure its set then your coming with me?" Victor said in his ever soft spoken voice.
[IF you are going to post a reply make it an exiting topic that i wouldn't reply to so that we may get on our way ^^ sorry for the wait but playing LoL with Nero really did help inspire me xD]

Victor said that he had learned to manage being alone. Freya considered this for a second. But wasn’t she the same? She lived alone too, was always alone. She had learned to live like that, but it didn’t mean she liked it. She wondered if this man was the same as her? Or if maybe he enjoyed being alone, could deal with it better than she could? She didn’t ask though, and instead she just smiled up at him. “Yes yes, of course I am coming,” the elf chimed happily, glad he had accepted her, agreed to let her travel with him. “Lead the way!” as she spoke, she found herself wondering a simple question; how long would she be with this one?
