KATHERINE MARIE AMONDSHAM
Now she moves with a predator's guile
Beyond the firelit circle of life
She soothes your cold heart for a while
Then matches its beat, synching in with a knife
Now she moves with a predator's guile
Beyond the firelit circle of life

NAME:Katherine Marie Amondsham
AGE:Unknown, but thought to be around two-hundred and fifty (appears 18)
GENDER:Female
RACE:Vampire
OCCUPATION:A Noble of Redwall
REGION:Mystère
ERA:Victorian
POWER:
Torment~ While she retains her kinds enhanced agility, speed, and strength, her true power lies in the ability to create pain in another being through seemingly psychic means. It is unknown how she is able to cause said feeling of agony in others, but so long as they remain within her eye sight, and within a close enough proximity to her being, her concentration causes excruciating aches in various body parts. This can lead, in the case of weaker minds, to death, the brain shutting down as pain overwhelms the nervous system.
Memory Synchronization~Through drinking the blood of others, Katherine can inherit their memories and thoughts. While it is not an accurate form of mind reading, as the memories of the dying are unfocused and disorganised, she has, through much practice, learned how to control these flashing images and create coherent links between them, effectively learning the past of those she kills.
EQUIPMENT:
An ancient and scratched engagement ring: Before Katherine was turned into a vampire, she was to be married to a aristocrat, who atop his dashing good looks and seemingly endless wealth was actually the love of her life. After being turned, she was forced to stay away from her soul mate, fearing feeding off him. She had to watch him grow old, frail and then die from afar, while she remained forever young. Ever bearing his memory, she carries the ring he gave her on a necklace, worn always about her neck.
LIKES:
~ The taste of blood
~ Silk
~ Solitude
~ Romance, (especially in novels)
~ The smell of crushed lavender
~ Perversely, sunlight, though it hurts her
~ Revenge
DISLIKES:
~ Her own vampiric traits
~ Hurting others, although it is in her nature
~ Darkness, though she has gotten used to it
~ The sight of blood
~ Others of her own race
~ Not physically ageing
~ Her red pupils
FEARS:
~ Losing any more of her humanity than she already has
~ Killing innocents should she forget herself
~ Being in the pitch black, even though she can see
SECRET:
~ She is working against the vampires of Dimitri's coven, and will happily kill any vampire she meets should they be wantonly killing humans.
PERSONALITY:
Calm, Collected and Polite: When meeting someone for the first time, no matter who they are, Katherine will act in a calm, rational and polite manner. Raised in a noble family, she will act as most aristocrats do, slightly aloof, a little judgemental, but otherwise very hospitably. She is well versed in the art of small talk, and has read widely through her centuries of life, and she is able to hold conversations on numerous topics. However, there is something remarkably artificial in her actions, though only the most perceptive would note such a thing.
Solemn, Solitary and Lonesome:
On a more personal level, when polite and calm façades are not necessary, Katherine is distant, solemn and likes nothing better than her own company. She is happy to sit alone for hours, reminiscing about distant memories, and should one try to talk to her about anything deep she tends to manage a simple sentence before trailing off, unsure of how to continue. However, despite her love of solitude, she is admittedly lonely, although she feels unable to be with others; in her eyes, the only person she wanted to be was taken long ago, and others can never fill the void her fiancé left.
Depressed, Lovelorn and Vengeful: When alone, Katherine tends to mourn the loss of her loved ones, and desperately seeks someone to take the place of her fiancé. As a vampire, she has seen much of death, and the taking of innocent human life breaks her heart. She will do almost anything to protect a human, no matter the consequences. Indeed, any vampire killing a human, feeding off them or trying to turn them risks putting themselves in the way of a force to be reckoned with. Katherine has a vengeful streak running through her, ignited when she was turned, the vampire that did so taking her away from her lover. Should anyone cross her, they must be wary, as she will happily turn her powers against them.
HISTORY:
Katherine Amondsham was born into wealth, a rich aristocrat from the moment she entered the world. Her early life was one of great ease, one of great enjoyment, one that others would envy and trade anything for. She was doted upon by her parents, as she was an only child, she had servants to wait upon her night and day. She could get, quite simple, anything and everything she wanted without even leaving her house. People would shop for her, get the items she demanded, and she was home schooled and so was never forced to leave the comfort of her living room.
With her lifestyle came all the trappings and nuances of aristocracy. She was taught, almost since before she could walk, etiquette and art of small talk. She was trained how to hold her glass when talking to different kinds of people, when to hold eye contact and how to break it, the difference between overt flirting and demure seduction. She was, by the age of 14, more adept in social skills than some royalty, and was the perfect hostess in almost every way.
At the age of 16 she met her suitor, a wealthy noble of a different house. They matched perfectly, and her parents were more than happy to give their daughter away, both for the handsome dowry and the fact it would unite two great noble factions, making them a far more powerful force to be reckoned with. What started off as merely a skin deep relationship blossomed into a deep romance, Katherine finding out that she had great personal interest in her lover, and despite her mothers warnings became emotionally attached to the man who was to be her husband.
Alas, her mothers advice should have been followed. Only weeks before the pairs grand wedding, Katherine was kidnapped from her home and awoke in a place foreign to her, pain coursing through her body. When she finally managed to stand , she was confronted by a tall, beautiful male who, albeit belatedly, told her that he had given her a gift, that she should be thankful to him, and that her old life was over.
Racked with grief, Katherine was unable to move for weeks, terrified at the changes her body was going through, mortified that the life she had so loved was left behind. However, soon realizing that she could not spend forever weeping, she began to explore her new home, and as it turned out, her prison.
She was held captive by the vampire that turned her for one year, and in that year he taught her all there was to being one of his race. He taught her how to feed, how to hunt, and how to survive. He taught her of vampire lore and of vampire life. When that year was up, Katherine killed her mentor, draining his blood and finding it sustained her new cravings. She swore, as best she could, never to feed upon a human again.
From then, she returned to her old home, and watched the actions of her ex-fiancé. She knew that she shouldn't, for she knew that she could never be with him again. All that she had learned suggested she could never have a normal life with her lover, and she would not inflict upon him the curse that had been inflicted on her.
She watched him for what was, it seemed, a life time. And in reality it was, as despite her occasionally venturing into the outside world, she watched the love of her now eternal life until the day he died. She changed the day he did, and without a second thought she moved into her long passed parents old house, and decided that she would forever use it as hers. She hoped for someone to find her, someone to fill the void her fiancé left, but alas, no such person came.
Years passed, and everything began changing around her. Cities grew, governments changed, but she remained the same. Her life became somewhat a blur, but somewhere in her lost centuries she became a pseudo-vampire killer, defending humans against her own kind, feeding off of their blood to sustain herself. In doing that, she became seemingly more powerful, and discovered her ability to cause pain in the bodies of others, passing the pain in her heart into their physical being.
Now, with the rise of the Nocturne Coven under Dimitri Monfort; a monstrous set of vampires set on killing any humans they cross she has found a new purpose for herself-she will work against them, even single handedly, to stop them doing to others what was done to her.
