NAME: Axel
Look:
AGE: Appears to be in Early Twenties
GENDER: Male
RACE: Nobody
.
OCCUPATION: I've done that and completely understand
REGION: Region of Mystere
ERA: Modern
POWER: As the Flurry of Dancing Flames, Axel uses two uniquely shaped weapons called chakrams, and specializes in Fire manipulation. He can summon pillars of flame at will and strike with rapid combos using his chakrams. He can also surround his chakrams in flame and throw them like boomerangs, spinning and looping them to hit opponents multiple times. In his one on one battle with Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II, Axel also summons a circle of fire to surround them and leaps into the flames to hide, emerging to strike with rapid attacks, and then leaping back to keep his opponents off their guard. Axel is a powerful member of the Organization, arguably even stronger, or at least a better fighter, than Saïx. This is seen when Saïx is defeated by Roxas, but Axel was able to defeat Xion at the Old Mansion, who at the time absorbed much of Roxas's power. However, Axel clearly put more effort into his battle, as he passed out after the fight, while Saïx remained conscious, though exhausted.
EQUIPMENT: chakrams
LIKES: He really doesn't like much of anything.
1. His friends Roxas and Xion
2. Sea salt ice cream
3. Fire
4. Likes challenging missions
5. sleeping
Dislikes:
1. Marluxia
2. Those betraying the organization
3. Blizzards or cold weather
4. Rain
5. Babysitting
FEARS: Me, afraid? Hah, I laugh in the face of danger. Honestly I do. Or I scowl and get angry. Nah I suppose I'm afraid of never getting my heart back, and of losing Roxas and Sora.
SECRET: Keeping the truth anyway from Roxas. That Roxas and Xion are both part of Sora. Not telling Saix about Xion losing her ability to summon her keyblade. (She does get it back later)
Personality: Axel's personality is very different compared to most other members of the Organization. His attitude also changes during the time he spends with Roxas. When he is first introduced to the Organization. Axel has a mysterious, stoic, and calm demeanor on par with that of Marluxia. He seems to be a very good liar, as he earned Zexion's, Marluxia's, and even the trust of Larxene in only a short amount of time. He also seems to be very committed to the Organization, shown in a cutscene where he battles Marluxia. He seems quite distant at times during his time in Castle Oblivion, ignoring Vexen's insults and almost completely unfazed by Larxene's flirtatious behavior towards him. While he is seen as collected, intelligent, and even somewhat overconfident, making him sound as if he is acting at times, possibly hinting at his dislike for the other members.
Axel is shown to hold Larxene and Zexion in good company to an extent. Axel making friendly conversation with Larxene while Marluxia is not around, and making friendly bets with Zexion as to which member will be defeated next. But eventually Axel betrays Larxene by letting Naminé escape and seemed disappointed yet satisfied upon her elimination. Axel also has Riku Replica annihilate Zexion to ensure that his actions in Castle Oblivion go unnoticed by the rest of the Organization, and to help Saïx keep his rank in the Organization.
Axel's personality changes drastically, possibly due to his friendship with Roxas. He has a very laid-back, "go with the flow" outlook on many things, including missions and battles. But he also is shown to have a very kind, heartful side, ironic because he is a Nobody and has no heart. His friendship with Roxas and Xion and his moving final words to Sora are examples of this.
He also stated that Roxas made him feel "like he had a heart". Axel was very close with Roxas and Xion. He acted like an older brother towards them, being their main source of advice and wisdom. In some cases he got them out of trouble, including helping out Xion and Roxas when Xion could not summon her Keyblade and preventing them from destroying one another when they were tricked by the Organization into fighting each other.
In both games Axel has been shown to have a very typical "Nobody" side to his personality as well, being cold, unforgiving, and merciless. He interrupts Vexen's cries for mercy with a cocky "Goodbye" before incinerating him without any hesitation. He also seemed to be amused by the deaths of his comrades, where he is making bets with Zexion. This cruel attitude also occurs when Marluxia uses Naminé as a human shield against him—Axel confidently declared he would eliminate Naminé to get to Marluxia. He appeared indifferent to angering Xaldin.
Axel displays emotion, which is unusual given that Nobodies cannot feel anything. When he begins laughing, but catches himself and stops. He even mocks his ability to feel towards his death. Whether he, Roxas, Naminé, and Xion all seem have something unusual in common regarding the heart, is unknown. But it has been hinted by Xemnas, and Axel himself, that by being close in contact with Sora's heart, Axel began to feel emotions of his own.
Out of the whole Organization, Axel is probably the most difficult to read. One never knows what he is thinking (as Lexaeus stated) or whose side he is really on. Most of the time he seems to be just messing around, but he may have done more thinking than everyone else combined, as stated in Jiminy's Journal. Axel tends to avoid eye contact when lying.
Axel does not like to talk about his past. Whenever Roxas or Xion asked him about his past, he would give a brief or vague answer and then tries to change the subject.
History: Axel was once a human by the name of Lea. As a human, he and Isa were best friends, and had a plan of their own, which somehow dealt with the castle in Radiant Garden. But before they could enact their plan, a Keyblade wielder named Ventus appeared, and Lea quickly dueled the young Keyblader. Although he lost, Lea bonds with Ventus, and the two become friends. Some time later he and Isa are thrown out of the castle, and then go and get some ice cream. It was after this, at an undetermined time in the future, that Axel was born.
Axel goes on many missions during his time as a Nobody for a group called Organization XIII, and has one of the higher success ratings until the thirteenth member comes along. Axel becomes his tutor, and the two quickly bond. When another member joins the group, Axel is sent to Castle Oblivion, where he is to eliminate all traitors, and those that could foil the plan that Axel and Saïx have concoted.
During his time at Castle Oblivion Axel played both sides of the castle, at first siding with Zexion, Vexen, and Lexaeus. Shortly thereafter, he joins Larxene and Marluxia, and eliminates Vexen to prove his loyalty. As Sora progresses through the castle, Axel takes him on, giving him cards he needs to progress, and even sets Namine free. He then turns on Marluxia, although he manages to use Namine as a shield. Sora attacks Axel once more, who flees, seeing that Marluxia won't survive long. He then turns on Zexion, who is killed by Vexen's Riku Replica.
Axel returned to The World That Never Was to find that Roxas and Xion had become close friends, and although jealous at first, he quickly becomes Xion's friend as well. He later tells Saïx that he longer feels like he is friends with Saïx anymore, and shortly thereafter, he stops Roxas and Xion from destroying each other. When Xion goes rogue, Axel brings her back once, although he lets her go a second time. Roxas leaves soon after, despite his friend's pleas. He returns to his room, only to find a gift from his friend.
Throughout the next few months, Axel had been seeking Roxas to bring him back, as ordered. He finally finds him in a virtual Twilight Town, though the two fight because Roxas doesn't remember him, and when he does, Axel feels insulted. Defeated he leaves, and defects from the Organization. He is aked to guard Namine, in an attempt to get Roxas back, he kidnaps Kairi, trying to turn Sora into a Nobody. This fails because she escapes and is later captured, although by this time Axel is okay with not having Roxas back. This is because Sora makes him feel the same way. When he teams up with Sora in Betwixt and Between, he sacrifices himself, and his body is engulfed in flames.
Despite what he thought was his last act, his sacrifice was not his end. At least not totally. Axel manage
ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:
(Axel)
Axel had yet to leave this home away from home. He felt emotionally drawn to it, or would have had he felt emotion. His memories of time well spent here kept him coming back, and although he knew it was his weakness, he refused to quit. After all, it was where they used to hang out. And if he was going to resurface anywhere, it was most likely going to be here.
And so Axel waited near the train station, waiting to see if his friend would show up. But he hoped it would be soon, today was rather hot, and even though he was a master of the flame, he wasn't a fan of this heat. It wasn't something he could control. And to be honest, he doubted he wanted to.
This was such a wretched place, so hot and humid, and so orange. A cloaked woman stood in the shade near the train station, arms crossed as her long bright blue hair cascaded down her shoulders. Eyes were cast down towards the ground as she leaned against a nearby wall.
(Katsumi))
She saw a red-haired cloaked guy standing near the train station. He had just showed up at the train station. There were others here, though few since it was rather hot today, which was why Katsumi was standing in the shade. What a time to come here, she didn't particularly like the heat. While the cold didn't even bug her, the heat extremely bugged her. Plus, she wouldn't be able to use much of her abilities here. Not like she really needed to though. She was waiting for the train as it had not shown up yet.
"What a bore, waiting for him to show up." Axel shook his head, and shrugged. He smiled, and looked up toward the clock-tower. Some friend he was, making Axel wait for him here, of all places. The two could've met somewhere else, but if Axel knew his friend, and he was pretty sure he did, then this was the place to be. After all, his memories kept bringing him back here, so then it was safe to assume that his friend's would as well.
"Just hurry up, okay?" Axel said solemnly. He walked over toward the train station building, but then turned when he realized that he wasn't the only Nobody there. His look of sorrow dispersed, replaced by a cold, emotionless stare. He disappeared into a corridor of darkness, and reappeared in front of Katsumi.
"I'll give you until the count of three to explain who you are and why you're here."
(Katsumi again)
She raised an eye-brow as the red-head disappeared and then reappeared in front of her. Something she couldn't do yet. She seemed to stand there as calmly as if no one had ever even spoken to her. For a moment her face was hidden underneath the shadow her hood offered her, but raised her head to look at the moment. To acknowledge that he was there.
Her silk-white skin seemed a light golden color in the twilight and for a moment she seemed to have some flesh of color on her body. She looked at the red-headed guy but had not spoken yet. She hadn't seemed to falter by his question, as if it wasn't even important. "A passer-byer of sorts, enjoying the scenery. Can't one just enjoy the scenery and not have a reason to be somewhere in one exact moment or place." she said, stepping forward. "It is a free world after all, is it not? It's not like I was wrecking havoc or anything," she added, and what was that, a hint of innocence? Naw, she was just toying with him. Try to act like she was. But, hey, she had gotten pretty good at this whole acting thing, with her having no emotions and what not.
(Axel)
If she thought he was an idiot, she was wrong. He wasn't oblivious to what she was, his ability to tell what was his kind and what wasn't wasn't as honed as Zexion's or Xemnas' or even Xaldin's, but he was adept enough to know that she was a Nobody, at least up close. His weapons appeared in his hands, in a bright flash of light, and he jumped back. He slouched down slightly and began to spin his weapons a few times.
"Sorry, but we don't enjoy anything sweetheart." He said as his looked Katsumi up and down. She seemed harmless enough, partly due to the fact that she wasn't wearing the Organization's uniform like he was. Her free world question would have made him angry, had he actually been able to be. Why? He didn't like people who talked back to him when he was human.
"Nothing's really free in this, or any other world. Unless you're willing to take it." His eyes kept focused on where he thought hers were, and because of the distance they were away from each other now, he was now able to keep an eye on her hands without having to glance down.
"Now I'm going to ask you one last time..." His voice trailed off, his mind wandering back to Roxas as a few teenagers nearby laughed, seemingly oblivious to the hostility only feet away.
(Katsumi)
She narrowed her eyes at the guy, who to her seemed all high and mighty, asking her why she was here. It wasn't like she had to tell him. Or like she actually felt like it. And to be quite frank, he was being rude. But she remained calm none-the-less. Its not like she could actually get angry or anything. Though, she was getting the annoyed emotion down quite well. She knew when people were being annoying. And at the moment he kind of was.
Standing still for a moment she kept her eyes on the fiery-headed guy. It seemed that he knew what she was and that they were the same thing. "Not going to take this world at the moment... not like I had any real plan to. And, if you ask me, given that I actually care or have the emotion to care, you're being quite rude." she said to him as she took a step or two towards him, moving away from the wall. "So, since you were so rude as to just bluntly ask why I was here and who exactly I am, then I could ask you the same thing, if I had emotion enough to actually care who someone was and why they were here, or some place else. So, who are you? And, why are you here?"
Through the whole thing her speech and demeanor remained calm and cool. Unsheathed by the red-haired nobody's little show of his weapons. Though, she had to admit she didn't really feel like fighting at the moment. Perhaps who she had been before hadn't really liked fighting. However, if he wanted to fight so be it. She took a few more steps forward then raised her head a little, unsheathing her eyes that were a bright yellow color. "It'd be such a waste to waste a fight on a beautiful evening," Given she actually cared.
(Axel)
Axel scowled as the cloaked woman seemingly mocked him and his inquiries. His scowl turned into a look of anger as he spun his weapons.
"Listen toots, I'm the one asking the questions here. Got it?" He stood up straight, and chuckled, the anger on his face being replaced by one of content, maybe even joy. His weapons dispersed, and he walked toward the cloaked woman. He got to her, and began to circle her, looking her over.
"I didn't realize we were playing twenty questions. But I suppose it's only fair that I tell you who I am etcetra etcetra if I want you to do the same." He stopped once he was in front of her once more.
"The name's Axel, and as for why I'm here..." He paused briefly. "Let's just say I'm waiting for someone. Got it memorized?" He leaned in closer to the cloaked woman.
"I still haven't gotten any answers from you. But I can tell by the way you're dressed that you're not with the Organization, or you just aren't a full fledged member yet."
OTHER: {Combat}
Forms:
Weapons: Eternal Flame, two chakram that Axel can use in a variety of ways. They each have eight spikes, and are mostly silver with some red and black. The handle makes a plus sign.
Abilities: (12 AP)
Ability One Name: Wildfire
Ability One Description: Axel's chakram ignite in flames and begin spinning. Three pillars of fire shoot up, which then turns into a circular wall of flames. The wall then begins to spread outward, burning anyone that comes into contact with it. Anyone who gets hit by one of the three pillars will be sent up into the air, and momentarily stunned, allowing Axel to hit them again. Both the pillars and the wall reach up to fifteen feet.
Range: Pillars must be within ten feet | Wall goes up to twenty feet.
Speed: Pillars instant | 30 mph
Cool-down: 3 posts
Uses: Infinite
AP: 8
Ability Two Name: Ring of Fire
Ability Two Description: Axel summons up a circular wall of fire, which has a diameter of thirty feet. The floor then turns into something resembling magma. Anything other than himself that touches the wall or floor of this "arena" is burned, and continuous exposure to the floor will result in third degree burns to the feet. Axel is immune to any form of fire from this ability, and can pop in and out of the walls to attack normally, or to sneak attack. This arena lasts for five posts, though it can be ended prematurely by hitting Axel with three attacks, or with one blizzard attack.
Range: Wall goes up to 30 feet high | 30 foot diameter
Speed: Instant
Cool-down: 1 post
Uses: Infinite
AP: 8
Ability Three Name: Flurry of Flames
Ability Three Description: Named the same as Axel's title within the Organization, this is more or less Axel's ability to use his weapons while they are on fire. Engulfing the weapons in flames, he throws each of them at his opponent twice. He then throws one once more, after getting it spinning to have a grinding effect, similar to that of a circular saw. Each of the four original attacks have the ability to hit twice, as they'll hit once going at their target, and then can hit again coming back to Axel. Dodging or blocking each attack is possible. Each hit will do fire damage as well as physical damage.
Range: Chakram itself - 35 feet | Flames - 1 inch past chakram
Speed: 45 mph
Cool-down: 1 post
Uses: Infinite

OTHER: {Combat}
